Walking Together Guiding Young People Through Identity, Purpose & UTU
After completing the introductory Mentor Seminar, this workshop takes participants one step further by exploring how to facilitate the Olasiva Village Circle learning journey within schools, churches, families, and communities.
Rather than simply presenting lessons, mentors will learn how to create safe, engaging, and meaningful spaces where young people discover identity, build healthy relationships, develop practical life skills, and grow into responsible leaders.
What You Will Learn
Participants will explore:
• Understanding the complete Olasiva Learning Journey.
• How to facilitate Village Circle sessions.
• Creating safe and engaging learning environments.
• Storytelling, discussion, and experiential learning.
• Working with parents, guardians, schools, and faith communities.
• Safeguarding and healthy mentoring relationships.
• Planning weekly mentorship sessions.
• Monitoring growth and supporting young people over time.
The Olasiva Learning Journey
During the workshop, mentors will receive an overview of the complete Village Circle curriculum.
🌱 Identity & Belonging
Duration: 8 Weeks
Helping young people understand who they are, where they belong, and the values that shape their lives.
🤝 Healthy Relationships
Duration: 8 Weeks
Exploring family, friendships, peer influence, respect, boundaries, conflict resolution, and healthy relationships.
🎯 Purpose & Leadership
Duration: 8 Weeks
Helping young people discover purpose, make wise decisions, develop leadership skills, and serve others.
🌿 Practical Life Skills
Duration: 10 Weeks
Developing everyday skills including cooking, financial literacy, hygiene, environmental stewardship, entrepreneurship, teamwork, and responsibility.
🌍 Community & Service
Duration: 8 Weeks
Encouraging young people to become active contributors within their families and communities through service projects and leadership
A One-Year Mentorship Journey
Together, these six learning sections form a structured 48-week mentorship journey, allowing mentors to walk consistently alongside young people throughout the year.
