Every Journey Tells a Story

Behind every young person is a story of growth, courage, and possibility. At Olasiva, we celebrate the lives being transformed through mentorship, safe spaces, community, and guided reflection.

Lives being transformed

Olasiva's impact is seen in young people gaining confidence, families growing stronger, mentors becoming trusted guides, and communities choosing to raise the next generation together. Every testimony shared here reflects one simple truth: no young person should journey alone.

Community Impact: Thika Greens

A Story of Responsibility and Confidence

In Thika Greens, one young participant began her journey through community-based cooking and life skills sessions. Over time, her family observed remarkable growth. She became more confident in the kitchen, prepared meals independently, organised breakfast for the household, welcomed visitors with dignity, and took greater responsibility at home. Her story shows that when young people are trusted, guided, and supported, they grow not only in skill, but also in character, confidence, and purpose.

Stories from the Olasiva journey

Anonymised voices from parents, young people, mentors, and communities — shared with consent.

I observed noticeable changes in my child over the course of the program -- emotionally, socially, and in confidence. She communicates better at home, takes responsibility, and seems more settled.

Parent, Tanzania

My son used to stay indoors and rarely interacted with others. After attending the program, he is more confident, communicates better at home, helps with chores, and enjoys playing with his friends.

Parent, Kenya

What surprised me most was how my daughter learned to explain her decisions calmly. She spoke about school choices with maturity and understanding.

Parent, Kenya

I learned that my life has purpose and that I can choose how I respond to situations.

Participant, Wayfinders Group

I did not know how to talk about my feelings before. Now I understand them better and can make better choices.

Participant, Trailblazers Group

Being trusted with responsibility helped me believe in myself.

Participant, Crossroads Group

Participants showed increased engagement and confidence as the program progressed. Reflection sessions became deeper, and young people demonstrated improved emotional awareness and cooperation.

Facilitator

The combination of experiential activities and guided reflection allowed participants to apply learning naturally rather than being instructed.
